Board & Non-Profit Facilitation
Boards and non-profit organizations carry significant responsibilities — balancing governance, mission, limited resources, and the needs of the communities they serve. These pressures often bring challenging conversations, competing priorities, and moments where a neutral presence makes all the difference.
Drawing on nearly three decades as a litigator, extensive mediation training, and formal governance education through the Rotman School of Management’s Governance Essentials Program for Not-for-Profit Directors (2014), I help boards and leadership teams navigate difficult conversations with clarity, steadiness, and structure.
My facilitation approach is trauma-informed, grounded in respect, and designed to help people engage constructively, even when the issues are complex or emotionally charged.
I’ve served in leadership roles on several boards — including as President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association; Governor of the American Association for Justice; Director of The Advocates’ Society; Chair of the Share the Road Cycling Coalition; and Director of Orchestra London (Ontario). These experiences give me a deep understanding of board dynamics, governance pressures, and the realities of leading organizations through transition and conflict.
I am particularly passionate about supporting female-led organizations and teams. Women in leadership often navigate unique systemic pressures, expectations, and communication challenges, and I strive to create facilitation environments where their voices are supported, respected, and fully heard.
